Assets that become Liabilities

How many of us have made such assets which have become liabilities in our life or say have been endowed with assets that become liabilities? While the usage of word assets/liabilities clearly demarcates the purpose, that an item is supposed to serve- sometimes it doesn’t hold true. What we undertook as an asset, costs us so much of investment of our health, effort, time and money over a period of time, that we start relegating it. And with relegation comes, disinterest, making it feel inferior. While it is not right treating anything with indignation- but it happens.  Does it not happen similarly to people, who fail to live up to the name and expectations. May be it’s a way of life.
