Music Channels

Music channels have come a long way, from their nascent days to current day. The evolution has been not just in types and varieties of music they serve but also in what they deliver and how innovatively. Considering their target audience, which is the generation of today and also keeping in mind, the audience who has grown up following MTV and Channel V- they have brought good concepts forward. From keeping the folk and traditional music including Jugalbandi alive with programmes like Unplugged, Roots, Coke Express- the novice, amateur, experienced, upcoming, modern, classical, folk singers get a chance to bring out the best of themselves to a wide audience. Channel V has mastered in gluing the youth to idiot box by providing serials like “Gumraah, The Serial, D3- which enlighten and open the eyes of the youth today.  Good to see right things being served, to preserve our legacy.

Yo Yo Honey Singh vs Enrique/Bryan

While the latter two are Gods of music worldwide, why was it that i was keener at attending the show of Honey Singh, the not so dear lyricist who delivers theth Punjabi songs with a touch of rap. Excluding the monetary aspect, what made me more anxious of attending Honey Singh’s concert? Was it the Desipan or the Desire to see a person, who hasn’t followed the crowd but went ahead to create songs like “Choot, Main Sharabi, Dope Shope, Brown rang, Angrezi Beat,Gilasi” and earn accolades. Even though the desire wasn’t completed, i still crave to hear him in person.

And its a 100!!!

With this compilation of mine, I successfully complete 100 blogs on the WWW space. Indeed an Exhilarating moment for me since ...... when i formally brought my writings to the light of the world. It feels good actually, very good. I propound to some people, who chose to tread my way- to be consistent in this attempt and only few continue their journey. It’s been great, especially the feeling that people start recognizing the voice of your pen or keyboard. For the few who inspire me, those who continue to read my scriptures, those who give their views and comments- Thanks for the renewal you provide and help me in bringing out this side of mine, ceaselessly.

2012 - > 2013

When 2012 began, i had few thoughts in mind, to make the year a fruitful one. Plenty of ideas- to live life, as if it’s the last year. Indeed many things accomplished, some dreams fulfilled (in the last of Too Do Things Before I Die). Some big things still stay incomplete like Home, Driving, Piano, Reiki. Many  things attained like French, Supporting an underprivileged, building value in people through education. The pending dreams carried forward to New Year- with the hopes that there is no carry forward but continuous investment in self and people related to me. “Au Revoir Nouveau Annee” and i must now start expressing myself in French.

The Unlike Button

The social networking sites – even though a medium of expression for the expressive, reticent and for the photocopy machines are being abused in all possible manners and the makers- indifferent to some more additions to be made. Many a times, i have seen people expressing their discontent, unhappiness, pain as the status and there always will be people (close, distant) who will invariably like the status unassuming of the mental state of the expressor. But why?  Have our sensitivities gone so low, have we become sadists that instead of picking up the phone and taking cognizance, we just press the like button and make comments abrasively? Sad, there is no one to pull the person out. While they say “Kalyug” is on its highest peak and doomsday near- WHO CARES
