Frustiao nahin mora....

Why is it that people vent out their frustration only on one person, even though he/she might not even be responsible for it? While expression of happiness calls for indulgence of all, even though they might not like it but when faced with problems – they flock only to one person. Why is it only one person who faces your fuming temper and gives a reasonable solution? What then happens to all sorts of solution providers?  Are we afraid of exposing our vulnerable side to others or we assume that our grievances will also be used against us? Is it the comfort of company or our secretive nature- which drives us?

Rewarding Inconsistency

I sometimes find it very weird that, we reward only out of the box actions and pay zero importance  to consistency. And this is clearly visible in all walks of life. Let’s take an example of music industry- KK is one singer, who has given maximum hits and has an array of songs under his belt- whose recall value is the highest. Surprisingly he is one playback singer, whose vocal gift goes well with most actors and gives credence to their acting skills. But how many times do we remember him, when we mention about our favourite playback singers? Its only new noises and voices that get nominated for awards- even though they might last only few songs. While the era is to experiment and welcome the different but do we think of strong standing walls? And probably that is the reason why world now moves on "Use and Throw" Mentality.

Agony Aunts

Whom would you classify as an agony aunt? A person who lends ears to cribs and whims of people around- Right?
But what about a profession whose one course of work revolves around being agony aunts? Did you guess it? Of course it is my profession – Responsable des resources humaines (HR). While people never leave a stone unturned in criticizing their HR’s and their work patterns – no one ever fathoms the amount of negativity that is handled by them. Listening patiently to all the problems, complaints and sometimes even useless banter- is int huge handling all the mixed set of emotions and still not loosing calm. Patience is another attribute, which we develop over time. We are just like downloading machines- people come, vent out their concerns, look for resolutions without trying to understand that we are fraught in a conflict with parties of different interests (Leadership, employees, team) and the tussle we go through to make ends meet. And what about our agonies? Who will pay heed to them?

Do i question a lot?

While I know that I ask lots of questions and that too random and unstructured, there have not been many times when people have answered them. We all have been taught to be inquisitive from our younger years – but no one focuses on being able to answer the questions- however weird that might be? Aint it creativity to be able to quiz at everything?
It is also an irony that one of the personality assessments reveals that I am a structured person – with strong logical reasoning- doesn’t that apply to the questions that come to my mind or is it related only to the answers?

While I see no problem in asking beaucoup questions, I have seen people losing their calm for being fired with a volley of questions?  So should I stop asking questions or keep the question bank in locks till I get the right person to answer (wont the essence go away?)

The Experience

It feels great doing nothing!!!

It is after a long time that I have had a vacation without purpose and no pending errand in mind- Feels just awesome.  With no thoughts on time utilization, no beliefs about catering to standards set, sleeping and waking without timelines is a mighty feeling (even though body clock doesn’t fail to respond). Having ample time to go on to facebook- peeking into others lives and making your innuendoes public is at times a different experience. Withering away time by wandering around, visiting places, wasting money is just wow. And it’s not too late to realize that I have been stretching myself to limits – trying to make the week look like an 8 day week, stuffing activities to just make it look like mine. Life has its own ways of making you realize that some limits are better to be stayed inside.

Ideologies

Lost in quagmire of thoughts, I sometimes wonder if double standards have become a way of life. People who claim to be practicing “Do what you preach” are the ones who imbibe double standards. And this applies in all walks of life. It’s hard to digest especially when people whom you look upto- start behaving similarly. Life cant be demystified and however hard you try to fathom, some things will still stay like the tip of iceberg. People with double standards play under the veil of “Saam-Daam-Dand-Bhed” and classify it as strategy. On the one hand they show themselves to be extremely people centric on the other- they are self centric to an extent, beyond imagination. While life is giving me multiple experiences, it is harrowing to see your “Goods” getting fraught by worldly pleasures.

The Generation Gap

Sometimes I am extremely surprised at the ideas of my parents and not because they are outdated but because it is exactment en face.  In spite of coming from orthodox backgrounds and belonging to a back in development city- its heartening to see them adopting the modern ways of life. While these modern ways relate not just to thinking, food habits, lifestyles- it is generally acceptable that the views of 2 generations can never be similar. But the case here is different. Parents who didn’t opt for risk for their own growth are going on a changed and risk path of their offsprings. While this one relates not just for careers but also for personal life- Questioning the societal norms is extremely commendable. Glad that I have both of you in life
