This is just another colloquy for Motivation and Hygiene Theory. Indian Girls attire of Suit and Dupatta is very similar to Frederick Herzberg’s view on satisfaction and dissatisfaction. Hygiene factors are just like salt – there presence doesn’t satisfy you but their absence causes dissatisfaction. Similarly dupatta here is a hygiene factor- if you are wearing a kurti- dupatta’s absence won’t matter to you but if it is a 3 piece- absence of dupatta makes you feel bereft and the feeling of something being amiss. You feel the miss to such an extent that you try and shelve yourself with some other parallel stuff.
